Leticia is just in the middle between Santa Rosa (Peru) and Tabatinga (Brasil). There are several ways to travel from Iquitos or Manaus to Leticia by plane, fast or slow boats. Immigration paper work is really important in this area but don’t miss confuse just because we are an open boundary, you will get a 400 USD fine if you play with it. On each city (Tabatinga-Santa Rosa-Leticia) there is an immigration office so you can do your paper work right without any problem and remember that is free.

Dude, if you do an exit stamp from any country (Peru-Colombia-Brasil), you must do an entry stamp the next 24 hr. If you stay longer without any entry stamp, you will get a 400 USD international fine. It’s not a joke.

This process is really simple and we have to divided by boat and plane.

Plane: If you come by the Monday and Friday plane leaving from Iquitos Airport and arriving to Leticia’s Airport. You need to go to Leticia’s airport immigration office and do your paper work.

Boat: It doesn’t matter if you take a fast or slow boat, it will be the same process. In Santa Rosa, there is an Immigration office so you can do the exit stamp and then take a boat to Leticia Amazonas (3,000 COP per person), go directly to Leticia’s Airport immigration office and do the Colombian entry stamp.

The same as in entering to Colombia, we will divided by boat and plane.

Plane: There are only 2 flights to Leticia everyday. When you arrive to Leticia Amazonas, go to the Immigration office at the airport and do the exit stamp. After you have done it, visit Tabatinga’s Federal Immigration office and do the Brazilian entry stamp.

Plane: There are only 2 flights to Leticia everyday. When you arrive to Leticia Amazonas, go to the Immigration office at the airport and do the exit stamp. After you have done it, visit Tabatinga’s Federal Immigration office and do the Brazilian entry stamp.

Plane: There is only one airline company that flights Manaus – Tabatinga. When you arrive to Tabatinga (Brasil), go to Federal Immigration office and do the Brazilian exit stamp. After you have done it, go to the Immigration office at Leticia’s airport and do the entry stamp.

Tabatinga Federal Immigration office opens everyday from 7:00 Am to 12:00 Am and from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Santa Rosa Immigration office is always someone living there, knock the door and wait until they open.
